This reminds me of something my kid said to me when I tried to draw a cute little bunny but it ended up looking like a deranged, demonic rabbit. They said, "Mom, if someone criticizes your drawing, just say, 'It's my style.'"
What a wise kid you have, they should be proud of themselves such as you are.
