With or without a heatwave in NYC, temperatures are boiling in ways I have not yet experienced in my lifetime. War, conflict, fissures, political unrest, in-fighting, break-ups large and small — it's all happening in our petri dish of a civilization right now.
This week, I found comfort in knowing that humans are a small part of a larger world — not as mighty and self-important as the power-hungry among us would like to think.
There's some comfort in letting go of that which I don’t control and solace in knowing that there are limits to human fiddling at large.
All this is to say: it's firefly season again.

I love that you can see fireflies, I haven't for years - I miss them!
Beautiful artwork, and always thought-provoking! I wish we had fireflies here too, but we still have a few nesting nightingales singing and that reminds me of the greater world too…
