If you have a more introverted and sensitive personality, life can often feel overwhelming. Before I found cartooning, I was constantly frazzled and easily disoriented. Now I'm only frazzled some of the time ;)
Drawing or writing something down on paper has the effect of calming me down. (I think of drawing as making any marks on a page: writing longhand, scribbling, doodling, painting, cartooning, etc.) The practice clears my mind and allows me to sort through thoughts and emotions better.
Of course, I wish I were less stressed in general, but every little bit counts.
Everybody works differently; I hope you also have a go-to practice for whenever you need relief from the noise. Thanks for reading and being here.

And your cartoons bring relief to the rest of us. You are inspiring.
Thanks so much for sharing your journey.
I'm trying to make sure I paint before I go to bed each day. It's difficult because when I'm stressed I freeze when it comes to doing creative work. And it seems I'm stressed all the time, sometimes more than others, "chores" have a way of vacuuming the life out of me. But I'm determined.
Thanks again. Thanks for being your self!
