This is a comic about making peace with failures over time. The panels tell a story of the artist's younger self, facing fears and regrets and experiencing failures "on a stage." All of my failures feel a little catastrophic in my head.
The stage can be a metaphor for almost any try-hard arena in life. My worst fears are always at the ready. The stakes are high, there’s no turning back, and a fail is a fail.
On the second page, the comic transitions to present day, where the artist gets back on stage to continue working at her craft. I don't have much to say about this, except that not giving up can feel like a very small, insignificant act.
But it's really all that matters: getting back to it.
If you’re hard on yourself, like me, then forgiveness is a frontier. Let us all travel there together.
Forgiving yourself is the hardest thing ever...thanks for the encouragement! :)
Ain't that the truth!
