I'm not good at relaxing and often need to be reminded (by others or my health) to take breaks. While I've been making steady progress on long projects, they could probably benefit from fresh eyes right now. It might be time for a breather.
When I was in high school and college, I used to scribble these lines from a poem by T.S. Eliot into every sketchbook:
“We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.”
As I've gotten older, I’ve been less courageous, perhaps from having made mistakes or collected negative experiences.
Maybe it’s time to find courage and do more exploring again.
Update: I'm traveling for a couple of weeks. I’ll continue my weekly posts from the road, but on a variable schedule and format until I return. Thanks for your patience.
I hope to experiment with watercolors more in new surroundings :)
Thanks for reading and hope you are also taking the breaks you need.
