Before she passed away, Dr. Goodall was interviewed for “Famous Last Words,” with the understanding that the interview would only be aired after her death. The interview was recorded in March 2025 and aired on Netflix in October 2025.
Here is a clip of the interview on Youtube.
I’ve been in need of pep talks lately and I drew this cartoon tribute to better appreciate Dr. Goodall’s legacy and words of hope for us.
I hope her words bring you some comfort and reassurance as well — that our lives matter, we are connected, and the choices we make matter.
Last week, I drew this illustration after I learned of her passing. One of my favorite quotes of hers is “Only if we understand, can we care.” May we never stop trying to understand.
Only If We Understand
Jane Goodall captivated me as a young person. I was inspired by images and footage of her work in the field, studying primates, when she carried around a notebook and pencil and observed social behaviors in the wild from a distance.
Thanks for reading and being here.
Update: I’m working on a fun project that I’ll be able to share soon — stay tuned this month.
