Last week, I spiraled into a bit of despair in my head. A lot of things felt hard. Hope and confidence were low.
Then I stepped outside and was immediately met with throngs of New Yorkers, all bustling around, chattering, and on their way somewhere. Neighbors were laughing and cooing, shuttling and shooing. I saw that life was carrying on, despite the despair in my head.
As an introvert, I tend to avoid crowds and commotion. But on this particular day, it was exactly what I needed: a reminder that life is bigger than what fits inside my head.
I felt comforted and reassured that there were people all around me who were also carrying on the best that they could.
This was what inspired me to draw this week’s comic. New York City is not an easy place to live, but I still love it.
Thanks for reading and being here.

I love that there's always noise living in a city. Out in the country, it's TOO quiet. In the city, I can hear that life is still going on (and when it's the Brazilians having a dance party upstairs--life is REALLY going on!).
