I love that there's always noise living in a city. Out in the country, it's TOO quiet. In the city, I can hear that life is still going on (and when it's the Brazilians having a dance party upstairs--life is REALLY going on!).
I have this odd thing. I guess it happened because my parents moved us so much...
When I hear a train, I know things can't be too bad in the world.
The sound of trains even the vibrations when living close to tracks, comforts me.
It's also probably because one set of my grandparents lived close to the tracks and it was always exciting for me to run out and wave at the engineer and the man in the caboose.
I don't think they use cabooses much anymore, sadly, but on the rare occasions I'm able to wave at anyone on a train, I do!
I'm an introverted city dweller as well and I totally get this. Sometimes being with people is what I need to pull myself out of my head and its tendency toward negative thinking.
